Dear Sharon, Renee, Chip, Tom and beloved family members,

Our family is so saddened to learn of your loss. What a blessing it was to live next door to Pat and Smitty on Montevallo Drive for 10 years. They will always hold a very place in our hearts - with so many wonderful memories.

Brad and Carter (now 33 and 29) adored going next door to 'play with Pat and Smitty'. Brad loved the 'freedom' of 'escaping' to their home and 'helping Smitty' at his basement tool bench. One afternoon Brad asked Smitty why he didn't do what his Mommy did when something broke. Your Dad replied - "Well, Brad, what does your Mom do? " And Brad said, "She calls somebody."

Another endearing moment was when Roy had set the firescreen aside while he brought in logs, and Brad got behind the screen and called "Smitty! Smitty!" - pretending to be behind the chain link fence between our homes.

It was so special having them as neighbors - and as 'surrogate grandparents' - for our two young boys, who had no living grandparents. They were always so loving and patient - and devotedly attended Grandparents' Day for both of the boys.

May the Lord's comfort and peace be with you all at this difficult time.

With deepest sympathy,
Carter and Roy Jones, Brad and Carter
