Elvira "Vi" Bacastow

Elvira "Vi" Canino Bacastow, age 90, of Johns Creek, Ga, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Elvira gave her love to many and was deeply loved by those whose lives she touched. She was a devoted wife to Wesley Bacastow for their 66 years of marriage. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her five children, 10 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, and was a loving sister to her 10 siblings. She has often been referred to as a second Mother to her children's friends. Among her many gifts from God, Elvira was an amazing cook, accomplished seamstress, a counselor to many who sought her guidance, and she had the innate ability to bring laughter to others. She had a special love for flowers and became an ardent gardener. Through God's grace, Elvira was blessed with the spiritual gifts of wisdom and encouragement, enriching the lives of those she touched. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held for Elvira on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:30 AM, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Johns Creek with a reception to follow the service. A grave side service will take place at Peachtree Memorial Park, Peachtree Corners, GA, at 3:30 p.m. at 5051 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory. Elvira was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Anna Canino; brothers, Joseph Canino, Leonard Canino, Eugene Canino, Benjamin Canino, Elmer Canino and Dominic Canino; sister, Theresa Puhr. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wesley Bacastow; sons, David Bacastow (Bobbi) and Steven Bacastow (Kim); daughters, Leslie Bacastow Tart (Randy), Nancy Bacastow Prather (Bill) and Sylvia Bacastow Menetre (Keith); brothers, Vincent Canino (Carmela), Andrew Canino (Patricia) and Louis Canino; sister-in-law, Vingencina Canino; grandchildren, Leslie (Christian), Amy (Charles), Michelle, Alex (Ashley), Stephanie, Wesley, Michael, Brian, Randal and Steven; great grandchildren, Olivia, Emma, David, Daniel and Clara.
