Eva FRIEDLANDER

1921 - 2017

FRIEDLANDER, Eva Eva Friedlander, mother, grandmother, author, designer and lecturer, age 95, Atlanta, died May 7, 2017. She was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1921 and survived the Holocaust. Her experiences led her to become involved in the HIAS organization (HIAS.org), whose mission is to advocate for the protection of refugees and assure that displaced people are treated with the dignity they deserve. She was an Atlanta interior designer and art appraiser. Eva was active in community civic organizations. In her later years, she began lecturing about the Holocaust, most often at the William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum. She was the co-author of her memoir, "Nine Lives of a Marriage, A Curious Journey", detailing her survival and life after the holocaust. Survivors include her son, Dr. Lewis Friedlander, Marietta; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Lynne Friedlander and Marc Goldman, Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Eva Marie and Katarina Friedlander, and Jeremy and Ella Goldman.
