In
all the flurry the weekend of Roy's death, I forgot to sign the online guest book - I'm glad it is still up, so I may post this note:
One of Georgia's tallest trees has fallen. People all across the state
owe so very much to this great legislator and public servant who helped build the Georgia of today. That office on the 4th floor at the Capitol will always be Lambert's to me.
One of the highest honors in my life was to have Ezekiel Roy as a true friend; we will all miss him greatly. Madison and Morgan County were his beloved home for which he did so much, and his eyes alwas twinkled when he spoke of you, Chris, Zeke and the girls. May fond memories comfort you now.
We will not see his likes again. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Zeke Lambert was one of the great people of our time.
We remember him back to college days when he was a leader among students at The University of Georgia, and have kept in touch with him through the years.
He was a competent attorney, a sincere public servant, an outstanding civic leader and a true friend to all who knew him.
This is a better world for his having been a part of it.
