Frances Bowdoin

Frances Bowdoin, age 94 of Stockbridge, passed away April 25, 2005. She was born September 30, 1910 in Eatonton, GA. to Edward and Florence Denham. She graduated from Florida State University in 1932 and returned to Sarasota to teach at Sarasota High School. She married Joseph Warren Bowdoin on June 11, 1940 in Sarasota and moved to East Point, GA. where Mr. Bowdoin was employed by Eastern Airlines. She worked as a teacher intermittently until 1969 when they moved to Barnesville, GA. where they lived until 1998, when they moved to the Georgia Baptist Inn in Stockbridge, GA. She is survived by her husband Joseph, daughters, Linda L. Bowdoin of Washington, D.C.; and Jo Ann Bowdoin-Aynsley of Atlanta; granddaughter, Meredith W. Cornett of Duluth, MN; brother, Rodgers C. Denham of Sarasota, FL; and sister, Florence (Floy) Garlit of Naples, FL. Memorial services will be held April 27, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Ford Stewart Funeral Home and another service will be held April 28, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Barnesville.
