Frank Lindauer

LINDAUER, Frank Frank Lindauer of Atlanta died on March 2, 2016. After retiring in 1986 as a technical writer and editor at IBM, Frank pursued his long-time hobby of buying, selling, and restoring a variety of vintage collectibles. He also enjoyed restoring and driving vintage cars. Until recently, he had sales space at Antiques and Beyond where he sold items under his business name, The Husband's Bench. For more than 30 years, Frank was active at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta (UUCA) where he served in a variety of roles. His most rewarding volunteer experience was working with children through UUCA's partnership with Fowler and then John Hope Elementary Schools in Atlanta. He received the Golden Apple Award from Apple Corps for his volunteer work with those children. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karen Lindauer; his children, Julie Lindauer Jacobson and Mark Austin; grandchildren, Michael Lindauer and Ally Austin; great granddaughter Aubree Austin; and step-daughter Christine Cliatt and her family. Per his wishes, his body was donated to the Emory University School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 13, at 3:30 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta.
