After WWII he returned to Fairey Aviation as a flight test engineer and test director of an air to air missile program. Gordon immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 to begin a long and distinguished career with Lockheed Georgia Corporation, first as a senior flight test engineer and finally as chief engineer-test and electronics. My parents immigrated the day after the Forbes' family did in 1956 for the same company. Our relationship is one of a large family. Gordon was the salt of the earth and was one of the most gracious and giving individuals that I know. I will miss him, however, what he did in life will live on through many generations. We should be honoured at his presence in our lifetime and pass it to future generations.
