MOORE (Foster), Gussie "Claire"
Mrs. Gussie "Claire" Foster Moore, age 92, of Roswell, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 7, 2021. Claire was born on August 22, 1929 in Roswell, Georgia a daughter to the late Charles Collins Foster Jr. and Gussie Lyon Foster.
Though born and raised in Roswell, Georgia, Claire spent most of her adult life in Atlanta with her wonderful husband Jimmy. The two met and married in their early twenties and shared a beautiful life together raising their three children. Claire attended Agnes Scott College where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. She worked for a year at Fort Mac before becoming a full-time homemaker, caring for her family with endless love and grace. She was a devoted member of Northside United Methodist Church in Atlanta, serving in several capacities such as President of the United Methodist Women. Claire was a perfect example of what the Bible describes as a 'virtuous woman', living every day to honor her husband, love her children, and most importantly love her Savior. Through her kindness and love she made an enormous impact on countless less fortunate children in her community. She served Murphy Harpst Children's Home orchestrating fundraisers, and even taking her own grandchildren to serve. Children were her passion and serving them brought her great joy. Claire was a wonderful Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, Claire is preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Stoker and her brother, Charles Collins Foster III.
She is survived by her loving husband, James N. "Jimmy" Moore III; two children, Claire Yates and husband Budd of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jim Moore and wife Tamela of Smyrna, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Collins Yates, Autumn Martin, Claire Weber, Elizabeth Yates, James Stoker, Suzannah Nagle, Bill Stoker, David Yates, and Anna Howard; twelve great grandchildren, Fisher, Sophie, Anna Farmer, Judi Claire, Amelia, Victoria, Adeline, Lillian, Carter, Emily, Quentin and Callum.
The family of Mrs. Gussie "Claire" Foster Moore held private family services. Mrs. Moore will be interred in the Roswell City Cemetery.
