Hubert Phillips Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
Hubert L. Phillips, 92, of Austell, GA, died Sunday at Tranquility-Wellstar Residential Hosice. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Heritage Baptist Church in Douglasville, with Rev. John Hughes and Dr. Milton Dwelle officiating. Interment will be in Douglasville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home. According to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA. Mr. Phillips was born February 19, 1913 in Douglasville, Georgia. Son of the late William and Betty Angel Phillips, he retired from General Motors after 23 years of service and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife, Clara E. Phillips of Austell, GA; five sons, Randall Phillips and daughter-in-law, Judy of Dallas, TX, Nelson Phillips and daughter-in-law, Jean of Newnan, GA, Dan Phillips and daughter-in-law, Barbara of Carrollton, GA, Joe Phillips of McMinnville, TN, Russell Phillips and daughter-in-law, Mary Clare of Alpharetta, GA; one brother, Joe Lloyd Phillips and sister-in-law, Georgia of Austell, GA; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
