POOLE, James (cont'd from previous column) He was also a member of the Commerce Club, the University Yacht Club, the Kiwanis Club, and the Loose Group. James P. "Polly" Poole is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Gay Poole; three daughters: Gayle Louise Poole, Pamela Poole Durden and her husband Stan; Donna Poole Zick; four grandchildren, Jim Payne and his wife Lisa, Angela Morris and her husband Dan, Stephanie Zick and Jennifer Zick; two great-grandsons, Logan Payne and Ben Morris; several nieces and nephews. Polly knew that in going to heaven, he would finally get to meet his two sons and a daughter, who were deceased after birth. The private family interment will be held Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Highway, NW, Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328, immediately followed by a Memorial Service of Worship celebrating the life of James P. Poole Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Northside United Methodist Church, 2799 Northside Drive, NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30305. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Georgia Tech Foundation Inc. 760 Spring Street, NW, Suite 400, Atlanta, Georgia 30308 or to Northside United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends-at H. M. Patterson & Sons, 1020 Spring Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30309 Saturday, January 10 from 3:00 - 5:00pm

James Parrot "Polly" Poole has given many great gifts to our chapter while enrolled at Georgia Tech and continued to give back in many ways after he graduated. We have kept in touch with you through Bess Poole and send our condolences. James, the late Dr. Sam and I grew up and Americus - we visited James when he was a Tech student and stayed in his dorm. James and Sam had exemplary lives and leave wonderful families. Wife Nell and I now live in Belmont Village at 5455 Glendridge Dr NE Atlanta 30342 to be near our doctors and children. We are saddened to learn of James' passing through the beautiful obituary in the Atlanta paper. What a wonderful life and wonderful family! He, the late Dr. Sam and I grew up together in Americus, and had some great times. My wife, Nell, and I sold our house in St Simons in April 2007 and moved to Belmont Village Senior Living at Buckhead, 5455 Glenridge Dr NE Apt 123 Atlanta 30342. We have stayed in touch with Bess and send our love to her also. You re in our prayers.
