Family-Placed Death Notice
VRZAL, James James (Jim) Vrzal, age 47, of Roswell, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2008. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend. He is s urvived by his wife of 22 years, Shellie, sons, Andrew, Tyler, and Adam, brother, Matt, parents, Janet and Dan Robertson, and Jerry and Inge Vrzal. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Katherine and Howard Cohoon, and Beatrice and James Vrzal. Born in Tampa, Florida, Jim moved to Decatur in 1964. He attended Sagamore Hills Elementary and was a graduate of Lakeside High School and Auburn University in Business Management. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 6 P.M. in the chapel of Roswell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends starting at 4:30 P.M. on Wednesday. Donations in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Roswell Football Touchdown Club in Jims' honorary (information available at www.roswellfootball.org or can be sent to Roswell High School, 11595 King Rd., Roswell, Georgia 30075, attention: Coach Tim McFarlin). A fund has been set up for Jim's children at the Roswell Wachovia Bank at 850 Woodstock Rd., Roswell, Georgia 30075 (in care of Shellie Vrzal for "Jim's Boys). Dear Shellie and family,
We just found out about the loss of your husband,Jim. We are so sorry. He was a very nice man. My son really appreciated all of his help with the Division 2 team this past fall. He came over many times to their practice to help while coaching his own team.That was very special! We also remember him alot from my son's first year in tackle football. Jim and I were classmates at Lakeside and I saw him and his family throughout the years - at the LHS reunions and at the Haynes Landing pool. Jim's service last night was a true testament to how many lives he touched. What a wonderful legacy he leaves his boys. My sincere condolences.

For many years I have enjoyed seeing and working with Jim at conferences. His talents and expertise were unequaled...but most of all, he was hard working, genuine and fun to be around.

Shellie and boys , I got the call from Jimmy Stubbs and Bill Crane this weeknd and wass deeeply saddened . Jim was one of the most genuine people I ever knew at Auburn , and lord knows we had some great times at the ole Phi Tau House ....Every time i hear Gladys Knight sing " Midnight Tran to Georgia , I think of Jim most of all cause I know how much he loved that dance we used to do togehter at the Phi tau house . Shellie & Matt,
Lisa and I spent the weekend with Bill Crane. As you can imagine, we certainly told a few Phi Tau stories. Like most Phi Tau stories, the Vrzal boys will usually surface. While we were there, both Bill & I received seperate phone calls sharing the tragic news of Jim's death. Even though we haven't seen you guys in years, please know we are touched by the loss of Jim. Our prayers are that you and other family members will find strength and comfort through the Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
