James Zellner Obituary


Family-Placed Death Notice

Mr. James Milton Zellner, age 84, of Barnesville, passed Tuesday, February 28, 2006 in a Spalding County Healthcare Facility. Mr. Zellner was a native of Fulton County, but had made his home in Barnesville for a number of years. Son of the late Mr. James Newton Zellner and the late Mrs. Martha Owen Bush Zellner, he was a WWII Veteran, having served in the 26th Infantry of the U.S. Army. He started J. N. Zellner and Son Transfer Company at the age of 18. He was President and Owner of the company until he retired in 1988. Mr. Zellner was a Charter Member of the Cherokee Town and Country Club and a Member of the Rotary Club and American Legion Post 1 in Atlanta, GA. Survivors include his wife, Marie Zellner, Barnesville; daughter, Chrystie (Daniel) Uckotter, Huntsville, AL; granddaughters, Marie Uckotter, Martha Uckotter and Anna Uckotter, all of Huntsville, AL. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, March 3, 2006, 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Barnesville, GA. Officiant will be Rev. Horace Sheffield. Entombment, Westview Cemetery, 3:00 PM, Atlanta, GA. Those who wish may view and sign the guest book at www.williamfh.net. To each member of Milton's family we extend deep and sincere sympathy. We have fond memories of times with Marie and Milton during our days with GMTA. We grew up in East Point, so there was always much to talk about.
