Jennifer Olivia Lawrence died after a long illness at the age of 73, on May 5, 2025. Jennifer was a free spirit who made many friends along her journey.
With two degrees from Georgia Tech, she became an engineer in various capacities, but she once said she enjoyed project management best. Born in Savannah, Jennifer graduated from Clarkston High School in DeKalb County, and lived in the Atlanta area for most of her life.
She was a Unitarian Universalist and supported LBGTQ causes. Jennifer loved science and science fiction. She was devoted to her dog Astrid.
Jennifer is survived by son, Andrew; daughter, Sarah; and brothers, Jay and Jeff. She was the beloved child of Beverly and Hollis Lawrence, who died before her.
A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta, at 11 AM, on November 1, 2025. Jennifer requested that donations in her memory be made to Decatur Makers, an all-ages non-profit in Decatur, Georgia.
