Family-Placed Death Notice
VUKOTIC, Jesenko Dr. Jesenko Vukotic, 50, of Sandy Springs, died Monday, February 22, 2011. He was a pediatrician with a private practice in Woodstock. He is survived by his wife, Goga Vukotic; sons, Haris and Daniel; sister, Sanja. A visitation will be held Friday, February 25, 2011 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel. Following visitation on Friday, there will be a Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Private interment to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

We just heard today about Dr V. We are heartbroken. Dr V took care of all 3 of our kids, the oldest is now 28, and we have never had a physician that took such interest in not only the medical situation with our kids, but he truely was interested in their lives. God puts certain people on this earth to remind us all of His love for us, and Doctor V was one of those people. He will be sorely missed, but he will also be forever remebered as a wonderful person, and someone that all of us are glad we got to know.

I was in the office last week and spent a few extra minutes looking at the great photos of Dr. V and his sons that are hanging there. My son still receives great care but we still miss Dr.V every time we go there.

Your advice will always be cherished... Feeling extremely sad and at a loss for words that my extended family hadn't a grave to visit my son (we chose to cremate him) you said to me, "The body does not contain the love nor the memories shared, only in ones heart and mind... this will always be within you and this is perhaps how you may explain to yor family"

I also just learned of Dr. V's passing and we are heartbroken. We last saw him in October 2010. Thankfully both my children have been healthy this year and I did not find out until I called for their yearly check ups. We had moved away from Woodstock twice but continued to travel 30 minutes to see him. We trusted and loved him so much. He had been our pediatrician since my oldest was an infant. He was bright and funny and caring. He always made my daughter laugh and comforted my son through his fear of shots. He talked of his sons and wife and seemed to be so happy. He was an incredible man. When we took a couple of Disney cruises, we made a friend on the staff from Bosnia. I'll never forget that she taught us how to correctly pronounce his name and she videotaped a message to him. We played it for him and he smiled and smiled. Our condolescenes to his family. I am a nurse at NSH and worked in the Well Baby Nursery for many years. I just read in a magazine "Around Woodstock" that Dr. Vucotic had passed away earlier this year. I'm so sorry to hear this it broke my heart. He was one of the nicest, kindest Pediatricians that would come to see our newborns. Always so gracious and caring to our staff. I just found out about the passing of Dr. V, as my children haven't needed a dr. in quite a while. Dr. V took care of each of my children from birth, and he was always so patient and caring, and let me ask questions, and helped us nutritionally when I was wary of pharmaceuticals. He was a fabulous man, a caring dr. and I considered him a partner in keeping my children healthy. We will miss him greatly.

My heart broke when I heard the news the other day when I called Dr. V's office to get an immunization form for my son to attend college. He was such a wonderful, caring, funny, brilliant man and doctor. He loved his boys so much and always put me at ease with a story that included them such as "don't worry...my oldest boy had this too, now the little one is getting it. Me & my wife haven't slept in days from the coughing." He was my son's pediatrician from 3 to 16 and always told him to "stop kissing the girls" when he had a throat infection :-). He was loved and trusted by so many parents and children. Many thoughts & prayers to his family that he loved so much. Thank you for sharing him with us. We were all truly blessed to have him in our lives and the lives of our children.

I was so sad to hear that Dr. V had passed away. He was such an angel to my children hear on Earth, now the angels are rejoicing to have him in heaven. I found out just over a week ago about the loss of Dr. V, what devastating news. I am so sorry for your loss. Over the years he would occasionally comment on how he met my oldest, Michael, before he was even born (I was "interviewing" pediatricians prior to having my first child). Dr. V ALWAYS knew my children. All 4 of them! He is why we stayed with the practice even after moving about 35 minutes away to West Cobb some 6 years ago. He cared for our kids for almost 11 years. He was a fine doctor and will be missed terribly.

We found out today 5/27/2011 that Dr. V had passed. He was lovely. He treated my son for 10 years - his only doctor since moving to GA.

I am so very sorry for your loss. The last time I brought my daughter in, I could see that he wasn't feeling well, but simply had no idea. Dr. V. was my daughter's pediatrician from birth and even after we moved over an hour away, we loved him so much that I decided I would rather drive that distance than change. My children & I are saddend to learn of the loss of Dr. V. He was an exceptional prediatrician and always listened to our concerns and often soothed our worries. I had known Dr. V was not at the office for some time on his usual schedule. I didn't know he was fighting a battle with his health. Dr. V helped change my boys fear about male doctor's. After 12 years of his loving care for my children, we will cherish the memories of a wonderful man and doctor! I have some very funny memories of him, when my first son was born. I was the type of mom to worry and visited the office probably once a week. So, one time I went in and my son was perfectly fine.
