Family-Placed Death Notice
MEDLIN, Jim Mr. James " Jim" Warren Medlin, age 72 of Douglasville, GA passed away Sunday, November 28, 2010. He born May 25, 1938 in Atlanta, GA, the son of the late Jesse and Henryetta Medlin. Jim grew up in Southwest Atlanta and graduated from Southwest High School. He attended the University of Georgia, and was employed as manager with U S Can in Tallapoosa GA, before his illness. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Douglasville. Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years Anne Medlin, son, Stewart Medlin, daughter, Holly Ervine and her husband Scott, grandson, Logan Ervine, sister in-law, Sue Pearson, nephew, Brad Pearson and his wife Kara, and great-nephews Zack and Will Pearson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Edith Medlin.The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Rev. Cecil Clegg and Rev. Gene Fields officiating, Interment will follow in Rosehaven Cemetery. Those who wish to express condolences or share a special memory of Jim may do so online at www.whitleygarner.com. I would like to extend my condolences to Anne, Stewart and Holly and family. Jim was very special to me, as I cared for him in 2007 and 2008 he always was a joy. Never gave me a worry!!! I will miss him dearly.

It's been many years since I saw Jim face to face but ever since grammar school at E. L. Connally, and on through high school, I always considered him one of my world's true gentlemen. I was sad when I learned he had the same disease my sister Connie died from back in 2006, so I had some idea of what he and his family were going through. Rest in peace, Jimmy, and my faith tells me that we'll meet again some day.

Rest in Eternal Pease my True Friend and Brother..I know that you will be accepted into the Loving Hands of our Lord and Savior..I feel that a piece of myself has passed on along with you which makes me Grateful knowing that one day we will reunite in Heaven above.
