JOHNSON, Jimmy Arnold "Shotgun"

Jimmy Arnold "Shotgun" Johnson age 90, of Snellville, GA, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lois Johnson; and granddaughter, Crystal Wallace; and his beloved dog, Crissy. He is survived by his wife of 30 years and the mother of his children, Gloria Johnson; children, Phillip Johnson (Terri), Michael Johnson (Carol), Lisa Johnson, and Marty Johnson; grandchildren, Jeremy, Timothy, Richard, David, Cory and Kaley; great- grandchildren, Andrew, Emma, Addalyn, Maeve, Evi, Chance and Brayden; and sister, Neita Faye Snell. Jimmy Arnold "Shotgun" Johnson was born and raised in the Five Forks Community on a 150-acre farm, he moved to Snellville in his early years. He graduated from Snellville High School, where he stayed an extra year to continue playing basketball.

He worked for 15 years at Lockheed Martin as a drafting Tool Designer. On August 29, 1952 he married Gloria. He also served in the Marine Corps Reserves for 4 years. After working at Lockheed Martin, he opened a Shell Station in Snellville, then in 1970 he built a garage in Snellville known as Johnson Tire and Alignment. During his retirement years he enjoyed spending time with his family and his breakfast buddies at Krystal in Snellville. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Jimmy Arnold "Shotgun" Johnson will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Tom M. Wages, Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. Minister Harold Savage will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 12:00 PM until the time of service 2:00 PM, at the funeral home.
