JOHN "JACK" MURDOCH John "Jack" Murdoch, age 60, of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Duluth, GA passed away January 12, 2006. He was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on December 7, 1945. Jack grew up working in his father's farm equipment business and after completing his education, joined Massey-Ferguson, Inc. He spent the next 36 years with the company and its successor company AGCO Corp. Starting as a clerk in the Calgary, Alberta regional office, he rose quickly over the years with increased sales and marketing responsibilities throughout North America, residing in Racine, WI, Des Moines, IA, Dallas, TX, Raleigh, NC, Duluth, GA. and Leamington Spa, England. From 1994 -1997, Jack served as Vice President Sales & Marketing of the International Division based in Coventry, England, with responsibilities for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He returned to Duluth, GA and remained there holding senior management sales & marketing positions until his retirement in 2001. Jack was well-known and greatly respected throughout the worldwide farm machinery industry. After retiring, he thoroughly enjoyed a weekly round of golf and spending time with friends and extended family. Jack was also active in Kiwanis Club and church activities. Jack is survived by his wife, Gladys; son, Russell of Pacifica, CA and daughter, Janet of Raleigh, NC; mother, Patricia Collins of Hanna, Alberta; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Reno Bexte of Mossleigh, Alberta; brothers-in-law, Bruce Christensen of Rimbey, Alberta and Mike Macleod of Calgary, Alberta. In addition, he is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Gordon Murdoch; and sisters; Vicki Christensen and Rhonda Macleod. Jack was a wonderful person who lived and died with dignity and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the doctors and staff at Rex Hospital for their loving care and support. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm, Monday, January 23, 2006 at Duluth First United Methodist Church, 3208 Hwy. 120, Duluth, GA 30096.
