Karla Emerson Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
EMERSON, Karla Karla Ann Emerson, 66, passed away on December 27, 2008 in her home after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Emerson was born April 22, 1942 in Duluth, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Carl and Fylla Paulsen of Tracy, Minnesota. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert Emerson; son Leif Emerson, daughter-in-law Christine Emerson, and grandson Robert James Emerson born December 2, 2008; brother, Curt Paulsen and wife Kathy Paulsen; sisters-in-law Candace and Karen and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Kristen Marie Emerson. She was a teacher for 37 years with 27 of those years in the Atlanta area. After retirement, she began leading educational tours for school groups, which she continued until recently. She was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and was very active in its ministries. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 4814 Paper Mill Road, Marietta, GA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Susan G Komen for the Cure. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Georgia 404- 355-7627

You have my very deepest sympathy. Karla was such a special person, and I enjoyed each and every visit with her. Even tho the vists were not close together, she made it seem like we were just picking up a conversation we'd had a short time before. I am among many many people in Tracy who will miss her.

I remember meeting Ms. Emerson on a trip she lead for a school where I previously worked. You could tell from her presence that she truly wanted what was best for children and commanded it.
She was an asset to schools, she will truly be missed.
