Family-Placed Death Notice

KATHLEEN "KATIE" PARKS Kathleen "Katie" Parks of Stone Mountain, GA passed away on February, 28, 2005 of lung cancer at the age of 81. Originally from Concord, Michigan, the daughter of John and Mary Rodgers, she married Allen E. Parks on October 25, 1960. A retiree of thirty years of service with the B.F. Goodrich Company, she and her husband relocated from Jackson, MI to Birmingham, AL and then to Stone Mountain, GA where they both retired. Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by her husband, Allen E. "Stub" Parks, her sister, Willoween Smith, and her stepson Terry Parks. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Luttenton (Beryl) of Concord, MI, her daughter, Polly Dorminey of Stone Mountain, her step daughter, Sherry Tefft of DeWitt, MI and her stepson, Tim Parks of Lansing, MI. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew and Mikayla Dorminey of Stone Mountain, grandsons, Tim Parks and Robert Parks of Lansing, MI, Dan Ebright of DeWitt, MI, granddaughters, Brandye Sedelmaier of DeWitt, MI and Heather Chapman of Dallas, TX, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 2 at 11am at Wages Snellville Chapel with Rev. Chuck Christie officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 until 9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers make donations to the Gwinnett Hospital Systems Foundation, 1000 Medical Center Blvd, Lawrenceville, GA 30044, in memory of Kathleen Parks. The remains will be shipped to Lauer Funeral Home in Concord, MI for funeral services Friday, March 4. The family will receive friends at Lauer Funeral Home on March 3 at 7pm. So sorry to hear about your mom she was a good friend of mine and so was your dad.We visited you when you lived in Birmingham right after you moved there from Jackson with our son Brian who is the same age as you.We will pray for you and wish I could be there with you.

We admired and respected your mother. She was a gentile and lovely person. I met you just once at Sunrise. My father was Ed Fitch (Dec. 28, 2004). He and Katie shared a dining table, opinions and lung cancer. My condolences to you and your family.
