Brenda, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I am so grateful for all the opportunity Ken gave to me and my family during his time with Liberty Mutual. Also, Ken's intuitive nature helped a lot of folks who worked for him over the years. We are sorry to hear he has passed.

Brenda, I am deeply sadenned by the passing of Ken. He was a true-blue Liberty employee, but even a better man. Ken (and Frank) gave me the opportunity to enter management; shortly after which I had a change of heart, thinking I may be better off managing my own affairs and remain a Sales Representative. Rather than try to dissuade me by phone Ken took the time to fly into Roanoke,VA the next Monday to talk it over. Our knee-to-knee conversations that week played a big part in changing my mind and remainning in management. I never took the time to thank Ken for his foresight...thank you Ken for your words of wisdom. Ken and I shared many a conversation (usually about Civil War history) while satisfying our sweet tooth through some ice-cream or as he put it - " a little dippy". Ken also had a nickname for his managers. I think mine was "general" or "commander"...I can't remember now which was the case. Regardless, I choose to remember Ken as a leader of men and a friend. One who will be missed by myself and many others. Brenda, may God wrap his arms around you, the children, grandchildren and others who were touched by Ken's special presence. With warm thoughts, Mark Schumacher

Ken, I enjoyed our time together at Liberty. Sharing ideas and plans with you at meetings, made me and the Pacific better at our jobs. I appreciated the time we spent, and the ideas we kicked around. It made us both better at what we did.Rest in peace "Senator "

Ken demonstrated a genuine love of developing others to reach their potential whether at Liberty Mutual or in personal development. Ken was a life long learner, keeping an open mind and willing to change his perspective after careful investigation. During my time working with him, I saw tremendous personal growth in Ken, inspiring me and others to do the same. Ken always coached me to consider the "suitcase" of life experiences we all bring to relationships when dealing with my co-workers, customers, family and friends. A lover of Christian music and literature, he was always expanding his outlook on the world from a Christian perspective as well. He will be missed for his great smile and love of dippy's (ice cream) which he used for business meetings on several occasions. A sly manager who could get a lot of information from employees over an ice cream cone! At the feet of Jesus, I am confident he is hearing "well done my good and faithful servant". Lisa Carlisle
