I was on the wrestling team with Kip in 1988. He was probably the tallest wrestler at 98lbs in the country. He placed 4th in all of Dekalb county that year.

Kipp wasn't the most simple person to understand. He was exponentially complex and his personality contained a texture that could rub anybody raw at one time or another. That grit is what made him such a good friend. I appreciate that Kipp never "sugar coated" the facts or said anything cliche'.

It was a pleasure to be around Kipp, although briefly in this life. He was always smiling and ready with a joke. He made a very large impression on my son, Jeremy, who had the immense joy to be the ring bearer for Ward and Tiffany's wedding. Kipp made the event very special for my son. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I knew Kipp, who was about the same age as my sons, when we were in church with him. My memory of him still makes me smile and laugh out loud some times. A wonderful free spirit who amazingly would speak to an "old man" like me. He was a whirling dervish in the gym. If I could only be as happy as he was for a few minutes and bring as much JOY into people's lives I would truly be blessed. Kipp was one of a kind and I have nothing but fond memories of him and from what I read here he was a good friend and a man of principle which his family can forever be proud of.

There are only a handful of people that could make me laugh until my face and guts hurt and Kipp was one. It's a sad thing to know that my handful just got smaller...

We met and became friends after a concert when I was 14. I remember hanging out till afternoon turned to night at the first Lollapalooza Fest and afterward I remember laughing till the sun came up and chasing you around the house with Flip. O to be forever young..... I look forward to a day filled once more with innocent laughter and fun....I wish I could have said goodbye....I still have your Pee Wee Herman shirt and I will gladly embrace you again someday and say hello again and we can dance till dark and chase each other till morning....All of us....friends....laughing till the sun comes up

I knew Kipp for 11 years, we were neighbors and played music together. His attitude, talent, and passion were inspirational to me. He was there for me in some of the hardest times of my life and I hope I returned the favor enough times. As a tech grad, I try to think things through until they make sense, but this doesn't make any sense. We all loved Kipp for who he was because that is how he loved us. To his family, I am sorry for your loss. Kipp was one of the most unique people I have ever met, and I count myself lucky to have known him.

I have known Kipp for the past 11 years and will remember him as one of the most spontanously funny men I have ever met. Kipp you were a great friend and a good housemate. I will remember you always with a smile... from the great "Stonehenge" house days to the warm hospitality you and your wife Kerri extended to me in Marietta... you were always a great friend. You cheered me up when I was down...amazed me when you sang as a front man for the Schwank Brothers...impressed me the time you stood up to our former unscrupulous landlord with the firm conviction of being right...and you made me happy with laughter...I will always remember you as a brother and will miss you dearly.
Peace to you and prayers for your family Kipp.

I will always remember Kipp as being one of the funniest, most outgoing, and hardest working people I have ever met. We were very close friends from 1989 until I moved to California in 1993. Although I have been back in Atlanta for several years, I had not seen him in some time. Nonethless, to this day there are so many people who remember him and speak well of him, wishing him nothing but good fortune. People will always know him as the guy who could literally have an entire room laughing until it hurt for hours on end, as he was extremly witty, and had an unrivaled sense of humor. Those of us who remember Kipp from those days always considered him to be a brother, and to this day we all enjoy remembering the great times we all shared. He was a part of my life that I will never forget, and I will smile everytime I think of our adventures. Words cannot express the sadness I feel upon hearing that his life was cut short, and my deepest and sincerest condolences go out to his entire family, especially Dr. and Mrs. Pearce, and of course Ward. Please accept these words on behalf of those of us who will continue to always remember Kipp and honor his place in our histories. His spirit will live on through our fond memories of him, and the stories will always be able to make us laugh. Rest in Peace Kipp, you were loved by many and will be greatly missed.

I knew Kipp from grade school. Kipp always made me laugh, even when he was "bothering" his older brother, Ward. May God's grace be with Ward, Dr. and Mrs. Pearce, and Kipp's extended family during these difficult times.

I only knew Kipp Pearce for one year, his 1981-82 year at Rockbridge Elementary. I was fortunate enough to have been hired by his father, then principal of Rockbridge, to teach general music.
I remember Kipp as if it were yesterday; his bright eyes, his quick smile, his charming manner... and what a beautiful voice.
While I did not know Kipp in his adult years, I can see from the other comments here that he had not changed one single iota. My sincere sympathy to Dr. & Mrs. Pearce and Ward. My heart is heavy with pain for you, though I see that he must have needed rest and peace. Wishing you tender and comforting memories.

Your family is in our prayers. All who know Kipp will miss him dearly. He would light up a room as he walked into it and when he left he left everyone smiling. Kipp left us with only good memories and when we look back all we can do is smile. He will always be apart of his friends lives. Ben & Alison Porterfield

Please accept my sincere condolences. In the several years that I have known Kipp, he has always been a hard working young man who cared more about others than him self. No one knew him to have a bad bone in his body and he was always well intentioned toward others. These truths are commonly shared by more than myself, I am certain I speak for many that knew Kipp. He is truly in a better place now.
