Krista Flanagan Obituary
Krista "Krispy" Lynn Flanagan, age 22, resident of Neenah/Menasha, died March 1, 2014 at UW Hospital in Madison, WI due to a cardiac crisis. Born June 7, 1991 in Appleton, WI; daughter to Nicholas and Michelle (Hanson) Flanagan and sister to Tyler Flanagan age 19.
She graduated Menasha HS in 2009 and was attending college at UW Fox Valley studying Zoology. Krista was a full-time employee of Tailwaggers Doggy Day Care and part time employee of CleanPower.
She is survived by her parents; brother; special friend, Matthew Baldauf; grandparents, Rosemary (Hackel) and Duane Hanson, Appleton, WI; uncle, Michael & Kathy (Dercks) Hanson, Appleton, WI; aunts, Lisa (Hanson) & Greg Hein, S. Milwaukee, WI, Regina Flanagan and Dan Donovan, St Paul, MN, Susan Flanagan, Santa Monica, CA and Barbara (Flanagan) & Cedric Thevenaz, Bellingham WA; uncles, James Flanagan, Bear Creek WI and Clifford & Barbara Flanagan, Bear Creek, WI; cousins, Austin & Alex Hanson, Jordan & Jacob Flanagan, Matt & Anne Hein and Danielle & Audrey Thevenaz; best friend, Megan Marquette and many, many, more friends that were so much like family, as well as her dogs, Sherlock & Barnaby. Krista was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clifford and Hazel (Buckoski) Flanagan.
This special soul had such a love for all the four-legged creatures on this earth. They knew when she walked into a room and were so excited to be near her. She had a smile that lit up a room the minute she graced it with her presence and made anyone who came in contact with her feel better just for knowing her. She had a passion for traveling and a love of country music. There was never a person who loved their freckles more than her.
A Memorial Mass for Krista will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, 516 DePere St., Menasha with The Rev. Paul Paider officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the following charities in Krista's name: American Family Children's Hospital Pediatric Cardiology Clinic, Chances Animal Rescue, Inc. Appleton, WI, World Wildlife Organization, Zoological Society of Milwaukee or the Humane Society of your choice.

Thank you to all the Theda Clark ER, flight teams from UW Madison and Theda Clark, as well as all the doctors and nurses who valiantly but unsuccessfully tried to save our beautiful daughter. She was the best thing that ever happened to us and we will miss her forever. She was much too young to leave this earth. A very special thank you to "grandpa" Dr. Wilson (cardiologist) for taking such good care of our baby for 22 years.

Even though I did not know Krista well I remember being glad everytime I saw her at TWs becuase I knew my pup was in perfect hands! She was always happy, you could see her beauty inside and out. My pup and I both miss her...TWs just isn't the same.

To Nick and Michelle and Tyler, I am so sorry for your loss of your daughter. That is so heart breaking. I lost my husband (Punky) 4 1/2 years, do to heart issues over the years. She is blessed to come from a wonderful Flanagan family. I miss those days going to the barn! Such fun we had. Michelle, we went to nursing school together, and I remember watching our kids band concerts together while they were at Maplewood. Although I have not seen you in years, my heart is breaking for you and your family now with the loss of Krista. She seemed like such a genuinely nice person and I am so sorry for your loss. Krista was one of my Kindergarten students at Jefferson. She was little but she was a firecracker! I loved her bright smile and her freckles. I have not run into her in a while but I did see Tyler not long ago and asked about her and how she was doing. I was sorry to read about her passing.
