Family-Placed Death Notice
HANSEN, Kurt Kurt Stewart Hansen, age 51, died unexpectedly on Sunday September 22, 2013 at his home in Loganville, Georgia. A Memorial Service will be held at 4 PM on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Loganville. The family will be hosting a reception at the Hansen Residence following the service til 8 PM. Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife, Sharon Hansen, three children, Hans Hansen, T.Jaye Dumas (Alex), and Grace McCurry, mother, Peggy Hansen and brothers, Andy (Sheila, Austin, Colleen) and Chris (Mona, Christian, Maddox). He was a Graduate of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and was currently practicing at the Loganville Kroger. He was an active Loganville Rotarian, and helped establish their Club Foundation. His number one priority in life was his family. Although his vocation remained constant, his avocation changed constantly. His titles included the Punniest Man in Walton County, Champion of Magic the Gathering, King Llama, Landscape Guru, Builder of the Great Wall of Loganville, Bane of Squirrels, Hound Wrangler, Destroyer of Bobcats, Amateur Professional Programmer, Self-Taught Musician, Avid Outdoorsman, baker of bread, maker of beer, potential vintner, World Creator and Dungeon Master. I did not really know Kurt, but I played on his world of 12 Dark Secrets, and had a really fun time there. My thoughts and prayers go to his family. He was a great guy, and will be missed.

Ms. Hansen -- I am so, so very sad to hear the news about Kurt. You may not remember me, but I live in Tallahassee, Fla and dated your son Chris, about 10 years ago. Browsing through Facebook and looked up Chris and Andy and found Andy's FB page then yours and eventually led me to this. I have thought of you often over the years and always had fond memories of visits with your family. The entire family was always to so kind to me. I really enjoyed the friends and support I found in the world that EZ created. I even got to play under him at least once in 12 Dark Secrets. His gift to us will always be precious to all of us that use 12 DS.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I met Kurt once in his Neverwinter Nights world just before he started to take a back seat in the proceedings, about a month before I became a DM. He will be sadly missed by all at 12 Dark Secrets.

When Kurt created his NWN world, he did much more than write for a game; he created a community and a family that has endured for more than 10 years. His 12ds family has shared a game, but also shared our lives, helped each other through bad times and created lasting friendships thousands of miles apart. EZ was like a father to our rag-tag group and he will be greatly missed.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Kurt has many people who own him a debt of gratitude for hosting his Neverwinter nights game server for so many years. I have talked to him many times, and he was a very nice man.

Dear Hansen Family,
We were so very sorry to hear of Kurt's passing. My parents have been so appreciative of the kindness that Kurt showed them for the past 13 years in being their primary pharmacist.
