Family-Placed Death Notice

Loy E. (Gene) McKee, 74, of Stone Mountain, died May 9, 2003. He is survived by children, Sharron McKee, Lawrenceville; Beckie Dragin, Lawrenceville; Leesha Sullivan and Shawn Social Circle; Raymond McKee and Andra, Dallas, GA, and dear friend Ellene Flowers, Stone Mountain; brothers, Bunn R. McKee, Tucker; and Carl McKee, Dacula; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 12th at 2:00 PM at Wages & Sons Chapel, with Dr. Dan Parker officiating. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to the Stone Mountain First Baptist Church Elevator Fund, P.O. Box 806, Stone Mountain, 30086. Mr. McKee served in the U.S. Navy as Petty Officer 3rd Class, was retired from General Motors after 30 years of service, worked with Stone Mountain Memorial Association as Park Ranger, he was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1957 and served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School volunteer. He was Chaplain of the Stone Mountain walk up club, he was presently serving as Worshipful Master of Stone Mountain Masonic Lodge. Stone Mountain Lodge #449 will served as honorary escort and have charge of graveside services. Family will receive friends Saturday after 12:00 noon and Sunday from 2 until 6:00 PM. Burial, Melwood. He was a very favorite uncle that will be dearly missed. He was a very special person and friend who had a smile for everyone. I will never forget what he meant to our family.
