It's still hard to believe that you are gone. I remember the hearty laughs we had at Record World. You were ALWAYS the bright spot everyone's day. Every time you walked in the door, you brought a ray of sunshine with you. That smile and those warm embraces were like a fleece blankets on a winter day!!! No matter what you were going through, when Mark walked in the door, it seemed like everything was going to be ok. May you continue to rest in PARADISE my friend. You are sorely missed!! We will continue to keep your family in fervent prayer!
Love you to pieces

Mark was like a true brother to me. I had the privilege of officially hiring him when he worked with me as a Sales Associate at Shane Co. Every day working with Mark was a real treat. He was very passionate about people and helping them. Mark had a keen sense of humor and was always telling clean jokes. Mark and I often talked about the Lord when the work environment was conducive to it. We spoke every day. Mark and I would often jokingly have sports debates as I am a Dallas Cowboys fan and Mark a Washington Redskins fan. It was an ongoing thing even to the point of phone calls and texts about post game commentary every time these two teams played it other. Even after I resigned from the company Mark and I always stayed in touch and rallied behind this Sports Rivalry. In honor of Mark E. Griffin my brother and his memory, I no longer throw sports hate at the Washington Redskins but give them a level of some respect because they were a positive influence on Mark. Finally, my wife and daughter got a chance to hang with Mark and Sonja as I took all of us to the 2014 Atlanta Tennis Open (VIP Seats,etc.)....My family said on that day concerning Mark and Sonja, that they were the greatest couple and examples of true Christians of all the people and friends we ever had in our many years in ATL. Mark called me on March 3, 2017 and we had a wonderful as usual conversation about the Lord and of course the Cowboys and the Skins. I told him at that time that we would be moving to Florida later in the year. He said "if you ever want to come back to ATL for a visit you know you and the fam got a place to stay". While evacuating this week (September 05, 2017) from Florida due to Hurricane Irma I called his home phone and asked if we could come up and stay for a few days (voicemail). Later that night my family and I were stunned when Sonja gave me the news of Mark's untimely passing on March 13, 2017 (ten days after we last spoke). Mark, I love you my brother and will miss you dearly. You will always be in my heart and my families heart. If Sonja ever needs anything I told her don't hesitate to contact us. For the honor of Mark E. Griffin from Marcus L. Luck (A lifetime Dallas Cowboys Fan) I Salute you My Brother, I honor you Man ....You were the Best Friend I ever had in ATL..Shout out in Heaven to the Greatest Redskin Fan Ever. RIP til we meet again (also say hi to my Pop's who is up there too).....Peace..

We pray that you will find peace during this difficult time and please let us know if there is anything you need or if there is anything that we can do for you. With our deepest condolences...Cassaundra and LaMarcus

Sonya,
I just heard of Mark's passing today. I'm in total shock. My prayers are with you. I will always remember the day you, Mark and I took down the wallpaper in your kitchen. It was a day of fun and it was a pleasure to serve the two of you; for you both served so many others so well....

I am deeply sadden for your loss of a wonderful and gracious man. Mark was a joy to work with at Lowe's. He had a heart of gold. He would do everything in the world to help a customer. Customers loved him and asked for him by name.

My heart is heavy. Showers of tears continue to fill my eyes, and I only really know Mark as one of the greatest god dads I have ever met. He embraced my twin nephews like they were his own. Every major event in their lives he and Sonya were there as evidence by most of the
family photos since their birth. His smile was infectious, and his warmth and kindness will always be remembered. I thank God for making Mark and Sonya apart of our extended family. May God comfort his family and may they find peace in midst of this tragedy. Gone too soon.

What a devastatingly sad loss!!! I am numb just writing these words. Mark was such a sweet, warm, kind-hearted, funny, giving, caring, loving human being!!! Mark had an infectious laugh and a smile that would brighten a room. He greeted everyone with a warm embrace and a smile that stretched from east to west. Oh how he will be missed!!!My heart is so so heavy right now, but I find comfort in knowing that Mark is with the Lord. To the Griffin family, my deepest heartfelt condolences. Thank you for sharing your beautiful "Mark" with us. So many lives were touched by him and I thank GOD for allowing me to be one of those lives. May God wrap his loving arms around you during your bereavement and may you find solace in knowing that Mark was loved and cherished by so many!!! I miss him already. I will keep you and your family in constant prayer, asking God to comfort you and to ease your pain. The sadness I feel right now is immeasurable, but I know it pales in comparison to the sadness and pain in your hearts. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!! If there is ANYTHING you need, please, please let me know!!
