Family-Placed Death Notice

RANKIN, Martha Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Ms. Martha June Potts Rankin, age 96, of Jefferson, who passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012. Ms. Rankin was born in the Brockton Community of Jackson County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Luther Potts and the late Bonnie Brock Potts. Ms. Rankin was a homemaker and was outstanding for volunteer service for the Jehovah's Witness for over 55 years. Ms. Rankin was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 72 years, Mr. Summie Gregory Rankin, of Jefferson, Georgia. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Robert Gregory and Mary Coleman Rankin of Jefferson, a niece, Joy (al) Espalin of Orlando, Florida, a nephew, Joe (Bonnie) Farrell of California, and a host of friends throughout the community. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Mr. Martin Harbeck officiating. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00pm until 1:00pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at Woodbine Cemetery in Jefferson, Ga.
