MWALIMU, THE GREAT ONE: I remember you with much love and gratitude for all the ways you encouraged me to know and see myself as God sees me. You were an Avatar of the Christ with love, kindness, generosity, bodaciousness, humor and strength who inspired me to pursue my calling as a healer and dream analyst. You were the first to answer my question saying, "YES! DREAMS CAN HEAL!" I was greatly inspired by our healing conversations and your generosity of spirit that made me feel like a part of your family who you loved and often talked about with immense affection. May they continue to be comforted and blessed by your Memory and Eternal Presence. I hope you are laughing and loving in the realm of the Ancestors and the Most High. Please remember me as I remember you.

Dad, you are the greatest human being I have ever known. You were kind, generous, compassionate and truthful. I will forever be grateful for all you have done for me. You treated me like your own son and I will forever cherish that. Thank you for everything you taught me. We are both Taurus too and that made our relationship even more special. Out of sight was never out of mind. I love you dearly and pray that your wonderful spirit continue to rest in perfect peace. Sun re ooooo Baba. May God grant the family the strength to bear your loss.

Mwalimu was very kind, collegial and supportive when we taught at Morehouse School of Medicine in a course about Coma and Brain death. He sensitized our students about ethical & end of life issues.He was an outstanding Men's Day speaker at my home church ( Church of the Incarnation , SW Atlanta ). I will miss his kind words of christain support as I faced many career challenges.May God have mercy on his soul and bring peace to his family during this difficult time.

My sincerest condolences to one of the most beautiful families I have ever been blessed to be embraced by. Mwalimu was truly Christ-like man. He loved, he taught, he was compassionate with himself and others, in hard times and good. He was giving and generous in kind and spirit to the very end. I will never forget my last visit with him in July when he smiled with me. I and my children Halima Dumas, Jamila Sykes and Omar Adam Sykes are so thankful to have been counted among his innumerable children whom he touched in so many ways. Hiari Imara, Kidist Getnet, Sala Imara Hilaire, Akosua Imara Kawo Davis, I Iove you all. My heart is with you today and always.
