Family-Placed Death Notice

McCLURE, Opal Mrs. Opal Boyd McClure of Cedartown (formerly of Fairburn) passed away January 6, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. McClure (former mayor of Fairburn) and is survived by her son, Kenneth B. McClure and his wife Peggy of Cedartown, GA; brothers, Alfred Boyd and his wife Janie of Fairburn; Grady Boyd and his wife Lucille of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Jeff and Jamie Hill of Lawrence, KS; David and Megan McClure of Milner, GA; great granddaughters, Ella and Ashley McClure and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 9, 2009 at 2 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Rev. Vicki Smith and Rev. Rebecca Holmes officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Those wishing may send an online condolence at www.parrottfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to Fairburn United Methodist Church 5 Washington St. Fairburn, GA 30213 or Anna Kresge United Methodist Church 15 Booger Hollow Cedartown, GA 30125. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until service time at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory, Fairburn. 770-964-4800.
