Family-Placed Death Notice

GUAY, Richard Mr. Richard Wayne Guay, 61, of Lumber City, Ga, passed away on December 21, 2011 after a long illness. Richard was born on July 9, 1950 in Savannah, Ga. His family moved in 1962 to Atlanta, Ga. After college Richard founded and ran an Atlanta based courier service. He then spent his career brokering vintage Cadillacs and Cadillac parts. He founded the World Aircraft museum which included many vintage military aircraft. He was predeceased by his father, Dale Manley Guay and his mother Vera Martin Guay Rambo. Survivors include his sister Teresa Odom (David) of Marietta, GA, nephew William Odom of Boston, MA, nieces Renae Brown (Frank) of Winston Salem, NC. and Sarah Odom of Marietta, GA, an uncle Allyn Guay of Lomira, WI, aunts, Carol Mullen of Iron River, WI. and Beth Martin of Ellabelle, GA and a number of cousins. A private graveside service will be held at Taylor's Creek Cemetery in Fort Stewart, Ga. Memorials may be made to the Griffin-Spalding, Ga Humane Society, any animal rescue group or local food bank. MILES FUNERAL HOME IN HAZLEHURST IS IN CHARGE OF THE ARRANGEMENTS.
