I'm at such a loss. I worked at the Endowment for Community Leadership in Washington, DC in the early 1990's. Robert was a leader in the community and a partner in the work. He had a great sense of humor and was laser focused on the mission God gave him for his life. I learned he was here in Atlanta a few years ago and reached out to him in regard to a family friend working in a nearby community. I knew Robert would have words of wisdom for him. During the recent unrest in our country, my thoughts turned to Robert. I was sure he'd have just the right perspective. That's when I learned of his unexpected passing. I am heartbroken for his family and extended community. I also know that He is home with his Jesus and that the prayers he prayed for his family, community, nation and world will continue to have an impact.
I am so sorry for your loss. He was a good man.

I was just starting seminary as Robert was finishing up. He was a great guy and helped me out immensely, both by setting an example of ministry and by encouraging me as I entered a new phase in my life. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. May God comfort you all.

I met Robert Crummie at one of Benedict College's homecomings. I then discovered that he was from the DC area, as well as I. The second time I met Robert was at Hampton Mall, Capital Heights, Md. He was not a reverend at the time, but it was obvious that he had a special gift. He will be missed. A true man of God.

Carver Bible College will never be the same. President Crummie was a good man with extraordinary goals, dreams and desires for everything that had a place in his heart. In the midst of fiery trails President Crummie stood on the word of God. He was a great man but he was also a common man. President Crummie always made time for his students. He was always optimistic about everything and always gave an encouraging and inspiring word. President Crummie loved Carver and Carver loved him back. Nothing loved is ever lost. Rest In Peace President Crummie❤

To the family of Robert W Crummie, you have my deepest sympathy. Robert was like my little brother whom I have know since being in the sandbox together. On our block we were close nit...his mother was my mother and my mother was his mother. Our parents back then was able to correct us when we got out of hand something you don't see anymore! When ever we left the area Mrs Crummie would tell us take Robert with you, he was the baby so I would put him on my hip and off to the playground we would go. Robert was a great guy and had compassion for people, so he will greatly be missed! Love and miss you my brother. One thing for sure I know you are walking on those streets paved in gold conversating with the Lord! R.I.P

My deepest condolences to Rob's wife, children and family members, his church family and his college family. I knew him from our days at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Washington DC, where we served for a time as leaders of the young adult ministry. To see him blossom into such a great leader was a blessing. To learn of his passing was shocking and painful. But the example of his life teaches us that God has welcomed him with open arms, and those same arms will wrap around all who are in mourning, to provide comfort during this difficult time.

I am Conrad Wallace Hill Jr. I was very close to Rev. Crummie. I am not able to be in church but he continued to minister to me over the past 20 years through letters and visits.
We joked about playing basketball together and enjoying life together through worship at Mt. Calvary. He along with the college as awarded me a scholarship to attend Carver. I would have loved to be in the college under his Presidency but God called him home before I could start school. I'm looking forward to starting and finishing in his honor.
My condolences to the family and our church family. He will be sorely missed but I thank God for this man who has and always will be my dear friend.

I was very heartbroken to hear of the passing of my childhood brother/friend. Robert has always been a great humble person. Robert grew up in Washington, D.C. We were neighbors but most of all we were family. I am very thankful that I had to chance to worship with him in 2012 and meet Carla and their children at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. When Robert would see that I was visiting in Atlanta, he would send me a message to come visit Mt. Olive. Robert I want you to know that I love you my brother and I will come visit again. To Vicki and Charles, this was a heart breaker. Continue to pray and keep God first.

Dr. Robert Crummie was a good friend and co-laborer in ministry. He worked with my husband, Pastor Vince Gonzales, at The Urban Alternative radio ministry for Dr. Tony Evans, in Dallas, Texas. We all shared beautiful times while he attended Dallas Theological Seminary and attended Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. His strength, godly character, exposition of God's Word and friendship will be missed. Until we see each other again in Glory, Dr. Crummie.

I met Robert when he first came to Carver. I didn't know of Carver but he came to speak to the missions committee at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. I was taken with this humble and supremely talented young man of God. I served on Carver's Board for several years and am privileged and proud to have been there when Robert was installed as President 20 years ago. What a blessing he has been to Carver and many hundreds and thousands of people young and old that he touched as an educator and pastor.
In my grief, I know that Robert was met by his Savior and welcomed with the words, "well done, thou good and faithful servant".
Our prayers are with Robert's family and Carver College.

My deepest condolences go to both the biological & spiritual families of President Crummie. I was blessed to work for him for a short period of time at Carver. He was an outstanding man of God & a wonderful person. Although I am deeply saddened at this loss, I understand that The Most High makes no mistakes once I see how many lives were positively impacted by His dedicated servant. I pray for peace, understanding, & comfort for everyone involved in President Crummie's life. I know this loss will take a major toll on our communities, but I pray that we can continue to come together to ensure the success of our youth. Amen.
January 5, 2020
President Crummie was my husbands boss at Carver. He gave my husband the opportunity to do what he loves, and that's coach. He opened this door for him to act within his passion and for this I'll be forever grateful. This was so sudden, but none of us know the time or the hour and for this I know it could only be orchestrated by our lord and savior. President Crummie will be missed around Carver. I'm thankful for his presence in my husband life and for all the games we caused havoc as we yelled Cougars loud and proud! To be absent from the body is to be present with the lord.......rest on! Praying for your sweet family.....with sincere thoughts.
