Family-Placed Death Notice
DOWELL, Robert Christian (Ricky) Robert C. Dowell (Ricky) departed this life Thursday April 5, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 11, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church, 1202 West Marietta Street, Atlanta. Rev. R. L. White, Pastor. Rev. Lee Franklin officiating. In-state 12 Noon. Interment at Lincoln Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 567 Cedar Ave., Atlanta. at 12 noon on the day of the service. Ricky was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on December 6, 1958 to the late James W. Dowell and Ruth Dowell-Grant. Ricky graduated from Frederick Douglass High School and continued on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. He had a true passion for building and remodeling. The memory of Ricky will be cherished by his mother Ruth Dowell-Grant, sisters Pamela Dowell, Tenita (Andre) Yelverton, brothers Derrick (Patricia) Dowell, Alandro Dowell, nieces Briana and Janai Yelverton, nephews Reginald (Breyana) Davis, Chris Davis, Derrius Dowell, Dontavious Dowell, three great nieces Daylyn Davis, Chanel Davis, Milan Dowell. I remember you telling me how some didn't like the path you chose. After that conversation I realized how much I admired you... You chose the path to be free and live life on your terms. Sincere condolences to the Dowell Family. Jehovah God made the earth for a purpose. It was to be inhabited by humans, who would have in subjection the fish of the sea, flying creatures of heavens, etc. The first couple were disobedient, and thus we inherited sin and now we die. Romans 5:12. God does not leave us without hope at John 3:16, it says "For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that evryone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life."

Uncle Ricky,
I will miss you, and I will never forget you. Grandma's house isn't the same without you.
