Robert PARE Obituary

PAR?, Dr. Robert H. Dr. Robert H. Par? passed away peace-fully in Stuart on Friday, December 9, 2016. Dr. Par? was Martin County's first Obstetrician Gynecologist and one of the county's most respected and prominent physicians. In his 30 year practice, he delivered thousands of babies in Martin County. He enjoyed his career, but most of all he was a family man. He loved spending time with the love of his life, his wife Libby, and their five children. He was well known for his great sense of humor and his whistling. He was born November 26, 1930 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Bob graduated from Tufts University with a B.A. in French Literature and earned his M.D. from Georgetown University Medical School. He entered the medical service of the Army in 1955, and was stationed throughout the country during his years in the Military. He resigned from the Army in 1965 with the rank of Major after serving as Chief of the OB Gyn Service, Fort Benning, GA. He moved the family to Stuart in 1965, and began his private practice on East Ocean Blvd. He retired in 1995 after having served as Chief of Staff of the hospital in 1970, and President of the Martin County Medical Society. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Martin Memorial Hospital from 1987 to 1991, and a member of the Board of Trustees at Port St. Lucie Hospital from 1983-1986. Bob enjoyed all that South Florida had to offer including boating, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed going on hunting and fishing trips with his family and friends. Many summers were spent in the Bahamas on his boat with the family. In retirement, he spent his time working on his cattle ranch near Okeechobee. He was married to Libby for 61 years. They enjoyed travelling extensively around the world. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His love of his family, his work ethic, his devotion to his friends, made him an adored and much loved father, grandfather, doctor, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Libby; one brother, Henri Par?, DDS of Littleton, CO; five children including Robert H. Par?, Jr., MD (Eryn) of Stuart, FL, Paul D. Par?, MD (Helen) of Stuart, FL, Lorraine E. Par?, MD of Savannah, GA , Barbara Sparkes (Julian) of Atlanta ,GA, Richard E. Par?, MD (Anna) of Atlanta, GA, and nine grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a gift to Treasure Coast Hospice or St. Joseph's Catholic Church. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, December 13th at the Aycock Funeral Home in downtown Stuart from 6-8pm and funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, December 14th at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Stuart, FL with a reception to follow in the Family Center. Dear Libby and Family,
I am Bob's first cousin Jeanne Brodeur Nicolucci. I remember him very well working at his father's market and delivering the orders. My mom, Yvonne, who was his babysitter, lives here in Melbourne, FL, and will be 100 in October.
My sympathy to all of you.

My condolences to Libby and all members of the Pare family. I have many fond memories of days gone by and I'm sure he will be missed by everyone who knew him and loved his sense of humor, especially of the "Pink Panther". I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The entire Pare family is in my thoughts and prayers; especially Libby and Dr. Paul, for whom I work. I actually only once met Dr. Robert Sr. in our office, and was very impressed as he spoke fluent French with one of our patients. He and his kind and caring wife Libby have been truly blessed with such a nice family.

Paul and Helen We only met Robert briefly on two occasions, but we recall his sense of humour and how interesting he was. Clearly, he will be missed by so many. With our sympathy for you and your family.
