KIRBY, Robin Royal Dr. Robin Royal Kirby, beloved therapist, healer, mentor, mother, and wife, passed away on January 19, 2016 in Atlanta, GA. She is survived by her husband, Richard Kirby of Peachtree Corners, and her three children, Brandon (Rebecca), Jen, and Erin, and two grandchildren, Redon and Cora. Robin was born and raised in Birmingham, AL, where many of her family and friends still reside. She earned degrees from Webster College, Washington University (St. Louis), and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Georgia State University. Robin was an invaluable presence to those who knew her, inspiring creativity, love, and light. She was an integral part of the Atlanta Jewish community, serving as a long-time Hebrew school teacher and USY youth director. Robin had an active practice in psychology and the healing arts. She co-authored multiple books on spiritual development and self-healing. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to the Wellness Foundation in Issaquah, WA. Hardly a day goes by that I do not think of Robin. A beacon of light went out when she passed. She was someone who cared listened enabling deep dark secrets so they could be addressed.
Thinking of Robin and family even though it has been about 110 days since the accident. I know you miss her everyday!

Robin could not be held down in this world; she was far too wise and compassionate. She was full of light and love and everything good. I was so blessed to have known her for many years and to have learned from her. I hear her voice speaking wisdom to me often and I am soo grateful to have known her. I just found out that one of the biggest hearted, warmest people I've ever known passed away on January 19. She and her parents and their embracing extended family opened their arms and their home to us on the high holidays and being with them colored some of the more special moments of my childhood. Robin Royal Kirby was illuminating and inspiring. I thought about her often over the years and wish it wasn't too late to tell her how much I thought of her or just to spend an hour with her. I know I speak for all of my family in saying that our hearts and love go out to the Royal / Kirby family.

Robin's father, Dr. Arnold Royal, was our pediatrician and saw my three daughters through many health trials. He, too, was a wonderful man! Quite a few years ago, my daughter was totally mesmerized with Robin's talent when her group came to her elementary school for performances. I'm sure that Robin never knew how she had such a positive effect on young lives!
