Family-Placed Death Notice

COX, Ronald Mr. Ronald C. Cox, age 68, of 306 West Thompson Street, Thomaston, died Monday, September 6th, 2010 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Cox were held Friday, September 10th, 2010 at the Yatesville United Methodist Church with Rev. Arianna Eberle officiating. Burial was in the Yatesville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Cox was a native of Concord, NC but grew up in Hapeville, GA. He graduated high school at Washington College Academy and attended Ole Miss University for a marketing degree. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. In 1993 Mr. Cox moved to Thomaston and was the owner of Cox Land Company. He was an avid outdoorsman, and a life-long Georgia Tech Fan. Mr. Cox was a member of the Yatesville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Shannon L. Cox; a daughter, Kelly (Walt) Zimmerman of Kennesaw; a son, John (Heidi) Cox of Williamson; a step-son, Kelley Hargis of Clearwater, FL; a step-daughter, Colleen (Ian) Gaenssley of East Point, GA; a sister, Dale Harris of New Port Richey, FL; an aunt, Ev (Dave) Little of Daytona Beach, FL; an uncle, Ralph Cox of New Mexico; five grandchildren, Jake Martin and Evan Martin of Kennesaw, Abby Cox and Anna Grace Cox of Williamson, and Emily Hargis of Clearwater, FL; a niece and several nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Yatesville United Methodist Church, c/o James Ellington, P. O. Box 62, Yatesville, GA 31097.
