Family-Placed Death Notice
CROSS, Sheila Sheila R. Cross, 55, of Buford, GA died July 2, 2011. The funeral service will be held Monday, July 4, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Buford Church of Christ. Entombment will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park, Norcross. The family will receive friends Monday, July 4, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Sheila was a member of the Buford Church of Christ. She was previously employed with AT&T after 30 plus years of service, and was a member of the Bellsouth Pioneers. She was a graduate of Greater Atlanta Christian School and Harding University in Searcy, AK. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Megean and Ryan Stokes of Dumfries, VA; son, Jeremiah Rogers of Buford, GA; parents, Clinton and Doris Robinson of Norcross, GA; brothers, Barry Robinson of East Point, GA, Stanley Robinson of Norcross, GA, John Robinson of Jasper, GA; sister, Yvonne Sewell of Port St. Lucie, FL; granddaughter, Hannah Abigail Stokes; several nieces and nephews. I only just learned of Sheila´s passing having lost touch with her 50 years ago. We were students together at Greater Atlanta Christian School. While planning a reunion I attempted to track down Sheila who was a close friend.
Notwithstanding the number of decades past, I am saddened and grieve for her family and all of us left behind.
Sheila was a lovely young woman with a lovely soul. She was a welcome ray of sunshine in my life and the lives of all who were fortunate enough to have her as a friend.
In a time so long ago it seems another reality, I once wrote a song for her.

I was recently told of the passing of Sheila, and my heart is filled with sadness. I worked with Sheila at Bellsouth, she was a sweet, dedicated and hardworking person. May the peace of God that passes all understanding comfort her family. God bless!

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Sheila for many years, starting when both our children were small. She was an extremely hard worker with amazing ethics.
