Shirley Blass Weitz, age 88, of Savannah and formerly of Atlanta died May 28, 2006. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Nathan Blass. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her husband Isadore Weitz, Savannah; children, Michael and Eleanor Blass, Waleska, GA, Renie and Alan Weinstein, Atlanta, Debbie and Eddie Levin, Atlanta; Harvey and Helen Weitz, Savannah, Julian and Jean Weitz, Savannah, and Robert and Laurie Weitz, Baltimore; grandchildren, Jared and Karen Blass, Kim and Gray Kelly, Tammi Blass, Cathy and Randy Schiff, David and Julie Weinstein, Julie and Asher Royal, Wendy Corenblum, Adam and Renee Weitz, Trace Weitz, Michael Weitz, Lauren Weitz, Brian Weitz, Scott Weitz, and Paul Weitz; great-grandchildren, Rowan and Whitman Blass, Nikki and Hallie Schiff, Noah and Annie Rose Weinstein, and Fisher Kelly; sisters-in-law, Frances Makover, Maxine Makover, and Bea Blass. Shirley was very active in many Jewish organizations in Atlanta and Savannah. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 30 at 2:30 PM at Greenwood Cemetery with Rabbi Neil Sandler officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Nathan Blass Fund at Ahavath Achim Synagogue (600 Peachtree Battle Ave, Atlanta, GA 30327).
