Dearest Rita, Sunita and Vineeta,
First of all a BIG apology for responding so late! For the past year my yahoo email was flooded with school reunion emails and so I must have missed your email. Just today I was cleaning the inbox and came across your email.
I am very saddened to learn Sunil’s passing away. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for loosing such a wonderful person Sunil that he was. As we shared the same first name we were next to each other in the class roll at IITD during the five years we spent together. I remember when he spent two years, working in TBL in Seepz. He was such a wonderful person that I would always want to be in his company. Maybe God also missed him for too long. Wherever Sunil’s soul is, I pray for his peace. The three of you have faced the past with great courage and I pray that you all gather strength to overcome from this tragedy and move on in your journey of life.
Best Wishes, Sunil

Dear Piku,
Quite shocking for us. We still remember Sunil putting a towel on his back and becoming a Superman to Bobby when he first met him. May god give you strength to carry on with your unfinished agenda along with your daughters. Please remember us if there is anyway that we could be of use.

We were shocked when we heard the news. Sunil’s sprit and love for life has been inspiring. His enthusiasm at the reunion at Joka was amazing despite his health problems, he shook a leg at the DJ night, expressed a desire to play cricket against the students and faculty and made great chess moves. Rita, Sunita and Vinita, you have stood by him like pillars of strength and support. Standing on the stage in front of everyone at the auditorium he told emphatically through his metallic voice that he was very happy to have come and would like to be there for the next reunion. At that moment the true spirit of the Silver Jubilee Reunion came alive. He will be missed.

Dear Rita, Sunita & Vinita
Words cannot express the thoughts that went through my head when I heard the news on Tuesday this week. I remember Kaps saying that he WILL make it to the reunion; and the enthusiasm he displayed throughout with all your support was truly awe-inspiring.
May God give you strength to overcome this tragedy.

I have always considered Sunil as a rare, solid gold person with his feet firmly planted on the ground. He was gracious, kind, humorous and it was always a pleasure to see him. Even during the difficult times, he would talk as if everything was normal. I hold fond memories of playing bridge together at the Delhi clubs, of family visits and his soft, kind nature. My mother was very distressed to hear about Sunil, and sends her condolences. She remembers him visiting her with a bouquet of flowers whenever he could in India.
Rita, Sunita and Vinita - we wish you strength to get through this period.

Amazing how Kaps will forever be etched in our memory thanks to those 2 swinging days in Joka last year when Kaps put many of us to shame on the dance floor. You are a wonderful courageous family Rita and have many more miles to go.Take care.

Sunil, my younger brother, was ahead of me in his intelligence, his warmth, caring, loving and phun making. Many of my current actions are prompted by his way of looking at life. It was a shocking loss for all of us, specially for Rita and the kids. Rita stood by him like a rock of Gibraltor and fought all adversaries to keep him laughing and well. It is only her strength and courage, which kept him going. The daughters are like the fragrance one gets from a flower in bloom. May all three of them carry on his work and may God give them the strength to bear this untimely loss.

Rita, Sunita & Vineeta,
This is really shocking news. Though we have not been in personal touch with Sunil or all of you, we have been hearing of your family through Shastri. I read the profile of Sunil in NRI pulse with great admiration for both Sunil and Rita and the girls. When one person in the family suffers, the rest of the family has to pull together to manage.
We pray that God gives you the strength and courage to bear the great loss.
I have a new hero now in Sunil and will always keep Sunil in our memories.

It was good that a lot of us got to meet Kaps and the family during the 17th Batch IIMC Reunion, and maybe, just maybe helped spread a bit of cheer in each other’s hearts. And maybe both Vijay Sharma and I should have pressed just that bit harder on the skit rehearsals and stuck with the original idea of using Kaps’ metallic voice-over for the villain. Just shows that we don’t know what we’ve got till its gone. My memory of Kaps will always be of his ready smile, his spirit and his great love for life.

With deepest sympathy to Rita & family for the loss of Sunil. He was such a warm, funny, brave and caring man. I will never forget the first time I met him at a Voice Masters Christmas party and he sang the chipmunks Christmas song with his electro larynx. He had a refined sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace. May God bring comfort and strength to his wife & daughters.

Me and my family met Sunil less than a year ago when they came to visit us in Toronto. All of us were amazed with the way he went about daily chores in life without compalining about his sufferings. It was a real honour to have him & Rita as our guest for a couple of days. May his soul rest in peace. Our prayers for Rita, Sunita and Vneeta.

Sunil was a very dear friend of Varsha and I and his loss is a tough one for us to take. Our daughter Kalyani called him "my friend" because he had this uncanny way of connecting with the kids that while they did not see him as a child they saw him as someone they could bond with. Just a week ago my son Mihir and I walked him to his car and closed the door. Little did we know that it would be the last time we would see his warm caring smile.
We have always admired Rita's strength and viewed it as a source of inspiration for us all. She has remained the pillar of strength for Sunil, Mini and Binnoo. Sunil left knowing how deeply she cared for him as no one else ever could.
We pray for strength to the family.
