Dear Cindy and family. I have learned that my good colleague and friend, Ted, has passed away. We got acquainted at Drew University, he was a student of systematic theology, I was a Crusade scholar in New Testament studies.
I was given the privilege of being one of the guests at his and Cindy's wedding. During the years, we have met occasionally at conferences and by visits, in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Oxford,UK, Bergen and Trondheim in Norway. And we have exchanged Christmas letters.I admire him for combining outstanding scholarship with life service in church and society. Now, sincere condolences to Cindy and the family. Thanks, Ted. Rest in God's peace.

Ted Runyon was a significant guiding light to me- (along with "the young turks" eg. Hendricus Boers, Quentin Hand and others) amdist a turbulent sea of conflicting ideas and emotions inside and out.
From this band of brothers in faith I learned to appreciate the verse
"Through many a danger, toil and snare, I have already come, tis grace has brought me safe thus far and grace will lead me home."
Thanks be to God for Ted and the brothers and sisters in faith.

As a former student, Ted's scholarly yet moving lectures endure as a powerful memory and model. I am grateful for the opportunity a few years ago, to work with him on a project. Always present - his deep sense of humor and playfulness.

I graduated from Candler in 67. Ted imparted to my journey in ministry gifts I have held close to me all these decades
Rest in Gods peace.

Sincere condolences to the family. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure in your heart and it lives forever. May the wonderful treasures fill your hearts with love and bring you peace, Hosea 13:14.
