Dear Mrs. Soldo,

My mother and I were very sad when my aunt called to tell us the news. You and your family are a part of my earlist memories - especially at those Italian Club picnics at the lake. One of my most vivid memories of my childhood involved Mr. Soldo (okay I'm 45 but I still call you Mr. & Mrs. just like when we were kids!). I was only about seven or eight and it was one of those wonderful picnics. I remember looking out at the lake and seeing Mr. Soldo swimming out to a floating deck that you and some others were on. Here is what makes it such a happy memory - he was swimming on his side using one hand to cut the water - in his other hand he was hold two glasses and a bottle of wine? above the water as he swam. I thought to myself that I had just witnessed the most amazing sight and that you were really lucky because he was swimming out to you! Isn't it funny what stays with us as we grow older. Now my last memory of Mr. Soldo was equally as amazing. It was my mother's 80th birthday and we had a big party at Mary's house. Shortly before we left Mr. Soldo sat at the paino and began to play. He played and sang a few songs and it was wonderful - and I thought to myself again, just how lucky you were to be able to hear that often - he was a fantastic singer and he played the piano so grand.

I just wanted to share this with you and I hope it gives you a little smile - like it does me everytime I think of it.

God Bless,

Love Gae and Gloria De Angelo
