I had the pleasure of meeting Tom Watkins in 2009 when Emory Card moved to SFS. He was always helpful and kind. Tom was very smart and such a pleasure to work with. I think about Tom quite often. He helped me anytime I was out of balance with Emory Card, a very kind and patient man. A bright star. The world does not get enough stars like Tom.
Rest in eternal peace Tom Watkins.

We realise this post is late but we were so very fond of Tom we really haven't come to terms with his passing. Tom came to stay with us each year after his trip to conference. he loved that we moved to Wales UK and he stayed with us in May 2016. To say we are devastated is an understatement as he was due to stay with us in May 2017 and only when we couldn't get a reply from him did we find out he'd passed away. Such a horrible way to receive this so very sad news. He spoke often of his brother and family and of the cabin which he loved so much. We would love to hear from his family if they have time or at least to send our very late condolences to them. email is:

Tom was a customer of mine for over 20 years. We enjoyed a great working relationship, and I have nothing but good thoughts and respect for a man I never met personally. Tom exuded professionalism and humility and he was one of my favorites. The world is a better place because of Tom.

Tom was a true southern gentleman and I liked him so much. Tom and I traveled to England on a number of professional study visits. We really enjoyed those wonderful trips. Tom was caring, kind and sweet. Tom visited me in Pennsylvania a few times and once again, we had such fun. I just found out about his passing because a mutual friend from England was trying to contact him. I am so sorry. He was a lovely person indeed and will be missed.

Hello to the family and friends of Tom. I just found out 10 minutes ago that Tom passed away in Dec. 2016. I work for Emory University and Tom was always available to help me with whatever I needed. He was pleasant and very nice to me. And he was a fantastic dresser. I teased him sometimes about out-dressing all of us at Emory. I spoke to him last Oct. when he stopped by to help me with a task. He was a great guy. I wish I had known of his passing. I would have expressed my condolences much sooner!

Miro and I have known Tom for as long as we can remember. He first became a part of the GMC family through Emory University but, it didn't take long for Tom to become a family friend of the Staneceks as well. The thing we will miss the most is sitting and talking with him. We loved to listen to his travel stories. Tom was so much more than the guy who worked for Emory University and we were blessed in that we were able to know him as the person he was and not just a client. He will be greatly missed by Miro and Dana Stanecek

I had the pleasure of working with Tom since 2009 when the Emory Card Office moved to Student Financial Services.Tom was wonderful to work with and knew everything about Emory Card. There was a lot I had to learn and I always picked his brain. We went to Kansas City, MO together for the COMTEC conference in October and had a great time. I would always go to Toms office and talk to him and laugh with him. The candle represents the light Tom brought to Student Financial Services. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
Love you Tom and thank you for so much joy you brought to us.
