BROACH, Walter Walter Gordon Broach, of Myrtle Beach, died Sunday, July 03, 2016. He was born October 24, 1939 and grew up in Panthersville, GA. He was a graduate of Southwest DeKalb High School, class of 1957. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Opal K. Broach. Mr. Broach is survived by his wife, Donna C. Broach; son, Jim Broach; daughter and son-in-law, Becki Broach Wines and Bill; grandchildren, Tyler Wines and his wife, Charissa, Philip Wines, Corey Wines; nieces, Debbie Goodman Mays and her husband, Bill, Sandy Goodman Cunningham and her husband, John; nephews, Al Goodman and his wife, Brenda, Mike Goodman and Chrissy Goodman; 2 great nieces; 6 great nephews; 4 great-great nieces, numerous family and friends from multiple states. Mr. Broach served six months Active Duty in the United States Army and he served six years in the reserves. He worked 38 years with the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Broach ran his own lawn care business for 6 years. Eleven years he was with Sam's Club. He loved the Lord and his church. Mr. Broach grew up in Mount Carmel Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon and an Elder. He was a faithful member of North View Christian Church, Gwinnett. GA area and Tri-Village Christian Church, Pataskala, OH and was currently serving as an Elder and interim minister at the Surfside Christian Church in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. He also coached for Belvedere Baseball and Glenwood Hills Youth Football. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 07, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Phil Gambill officiating; interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 06, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.
