Brenda, Brittany, Kevin & Bart - I know you have lost so much more than I with Bert's death, but the whole commmunity has lost a great personality, a wonderful wit, a true friend and a leader & spokesman. Whether 4 or 5 us were trying to pull a stump out of your front yard, whether Bert and I were working in my basement to fix a new phone line I had just installed, or whether Bert was saving me and my "wonder truck' from the side of Harmony Grove Road, he was always there and always with a smile, a good story or two and friendship. Yeah, we're going to miss him too. While we all send our condolences and sympathy, still, in your pain, please know that the man who answered the telephone from your answering service with 'You have reached the telephone of Bert, Brenda and Brittany Lunsford...' in the brightest voice I've ever heard will be sorely missed by a great many other people as well. I think we can all say that we loved him.

Brenda and family,
Bert was such an important part of our community. He made sure we were all aware of what was going on in our area, which was so important to all of us. We will miss his always cheerful and outgoing personality, and his willingness to be of help anytime help was needed. Wolf Laurel just won't be the same without him! Our love and prayers are with you.

Brenda, I'm sorry I never had the chance to meet you or your children, but at least I am blessed to have known Bert. I am a fellow insurance broker and sat through many long and boring carrier meetings with Bert. He helped make the experience worthwhile! He was one of the good and decent brokers. We need more people like Bert in our business and in our lives. He was caring and compassionate about his business, his clients and his fellow brokers. I will miss him.
