Dear Phyllis,

I just confirmed yesterday at the 9-11 Memorial Ride something I had heard a month ago but thought it was bad information. Had I known of Joe's illness and of course his homecoming I would have been in touch. I know no one will see this because it's been over a year but it is for me, I guess, more than anyone else. God bless you continually as He holds you in His hands.

Dear Barrett Family & Friends.

I offer my condolences on your loss. I only knew Joe for short period of time, but he left a lasting impression on me as being a remarkable person and a man of immense integrity and fortitude. I worked with him when he helped in the transportation of guests, dignitaries, and athletes staying at Chateau Elan during the 1996 Olympics. Although I don't work there anymore, I am still grateful to Joe for coming to our "rescue" more than I can remember. Thank you for letting me share my story with you. Again, my condolences.

The Barrett Family-

I am Austin Hanson's daughter, he worked with Joe for many years at station 12 in Snellville. Joe always had a smile on his face and I know that he meant a lot to my dad, who always affectionately introduced him as "DAD". I am sure many people felt and feel the same way about Joe. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
