To Kathy and all the family, I am really sorry to hear of the passing of Bill. He was a wonderful, gentle, kind and funny family man. I enjoyed seeing Bill and the family in my Atlanta days, especially in the Brickery. I know after 46 years together the absence of his physical presence will be an incredibly difficult realization for you Kathy. It feels far too soon. The pain and sadness of the sorrow right now is the measure of love enjoyed in life. Sending you lots of support and hugs and may Bill rest in peace with his angels. Lots of love, Lil

I was fortunate to have Bill as my friend. He was always cheerful and unselfish, down-to-earth, open and honest, easy to get along with, and much more. He was never happier than when around his family, and he was so proud of his kids. He lives on through the love he gave his family. It´s hard not to smile just thinking about him.

I've known Bill since I was about 15. Kathy used to take me to his parties when he taught in DC. Bill was a man of many talents and yes, lots of "dad" jokes. I have many memories of Bill and will cherish them all. Rest in peace my sweet birthday buddy.

We are sending love and condolences to the Gage Family. We have known Bill for 35 years, ever since Tokyo and were amazed by his intelligence and humor. Rest in peace, Bill.
