William Keating Obituary

Family-Placed Death Notice

A celebration of life for William Barry Keating will be held Saturday, August 28, at Tybee Island, GA. Barry passed away August 13 after a brief illness. He leaves to cherish his memory: beloved companion, Mary McDevitt Pharr; daughters, Ann Keating, Marcy Blood (Glen), Beth Keating (Reggie); grandchildren, Christopher Toro, Barri and Ben Ballow, Reggie and Kathy Cauley; brothers, Jim (Carmen) and Harty (Betty) Keating; sisters, Mary Floyd and Marcie Grossack (Irvin), and a host of other relatives and friends. Barry was pre-deceased by Joan Alberino Keating, his wife of almost forty years. Born in 1932 in Macon, GA, Barry grew up in Savannah and lived in Atlanta for most of his life, with stops along the way in Jacksonville, FL and Gary, IN. Barry worked as a construction project manager and most recently, built the cabin where he lived at Lake Jackson in Monticello, GA. A man who lived life on his own terms, Barry sought the good in all people and generally found it. Family and friends are invited to join us as we offer a farewell toast to the man who was always "the life of the party." Please gather at the pink house on the corner of 13th and 2nd Ave. at Tybee Island, GA at 6:00 p.m. on August 28.
