Brian Hahn Obituary

Brian Hahn, slipped into heaven at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, Calif., surrounded by family and friends on Aug. 19, 2015, following a valiant battle with leukemia. Brian was born in Greenfield, July 23, 1963 to Earl and Joan Hahn.
He attended school in Anita, and upon graduation from the University of Iowa in 1986 he re-located to Las Vegas. Though he was always a Hawkeye, he embraced the UNLV Rebels and was a booster for many years following his team around the country cheering them on. Finance and mortgage was his career calling, he became one of the most dedicated mortgage originators in the area and was in the top 10 in the nation with Castle-Cooke Mortgage. Brian was blessed with a witty sense of humor, honesty, fairness and a very positive can do attitude that made him so contagious to be around.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sharron of Las Vegas, mother, Joan Hahn of Atlantic, grandmother, Faye Ihnen of Atlantic, sister Pam (Jim) Tibken of Wiota, sister, Laurie Hahn of Waukee, son, Darren (Marlo) O'Donnell of Las Vegas, daughter, Valerie O'Donnell, of Las Vegas, six grandchildren, aunt, Judy (Rich) Schleuter of Adel, niece, Shara Tibken, of San Francisco, and nephews, Brooke Tibken of Wiota, and Tucker Tibken (Kim, Landon and Logan) of Wiota and many wonderful cousins and friends and his 3 furry companions.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 19 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2700 Town Center Dr., Las Vegas, Nev.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers to please make donations in Brian's honor to Scripps Health for Leukemia Research at Green Cancer Center. Credit card payments by phone 1-800-326-3776 or online at scripps.org/about-us_giving.

Wow. I known Brian since I moved here in 1988 when he worked at Norwest with my neighbor Dennis Z as we played racquetball 2x a week. He got into mortgage business when I got into insurance business at the same time around 1990. We referred business back and forth, more him to me. We became good friends as our work ethic was the same, 24/7. Brian would send me quote requests at 10pm, Sat, Sunday etc and of course I'd get it to him ASAP. I'll really miss stopping by his office and meeting with him and our conversations about family, sports etc. Brian was a great person with a sense of humor I totally understood and I'll really miss him. I'm sorry I'll be out of town for the service but my prayers are with Sharron and his family.

Even though Brian and I didn't work together anymore, we seemed to cross paths and still enjoyed talking about the things we have shared in 20 years in the business. I personally will miss his random private messages on Facebook or emails. My heart and prayers go out to everyone who was touched by his wonderful life, spirit and humor. Linda Bertuzzi

Brian was one of my oldest and dearest friends. We met at a UNLV tailgate party not too long after he moved to Las Vegas. We had so many good times too numerous to list. I cherish my time with and memories of Brian and he will always be close to my heart. I am going to miss his wonderful infectious laugh and his witty humor. He was a friend to all that he met. Rest in peace my dear, dear friend. Derrek Yelton
