Donald Weber Obituary

May 3, 1932 - March 8, 2026

Leesburg - Donald J. Weber, 93, passed away on March 8, 2026.
Donald "Don" Weber was born May 3, 1932, on a farm north of Cumberland in Cass County, to Wesley H. Weber and Helen (Hopkins) Weber. He grew up in the Wiota area and graduated from Wiota High School.
On Dec. 26, 1954, he married Marilyn June Cook of Atlantic, and together they built a
life grounded in family, service, and strong Midwestern values for over seven decades.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He enlisted on Oct. 14, 1952, and retired on Oct. 31, 1972, earning the rank of Major after 20 years of service. After attending Officer Candidate School in 1959,
he became a transport pilot flying the C-141 Starlifter and accumulated
more than 5,000 flight hours during his distinguished military career. His service spanned the Cold War and included the eras of the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, Don returned to Iowa before later moving to Leesburg, Fla.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his devotion
to his family, and the quiet strength and warm sense of humor that defined his life.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and his son, Richard.
Don's life of service, commitment, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.
