Pamela Wright Obituary

Pamela Jean Wright, age 60, of Atlantic, and formerly of Griswold, passed away at her home in Atlantic on Thursday, April 1, 2010.
Pam was born Aug. 22, 1949 in Wayne, Neb. to Charles and Lorna (Ostermann) Roth, the first of three children. She was raised in several Nebraska communities and graduated from Laurel High School in 1967. Pam attended Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska for two years where she met and married her first husband, Kent Gade. Pam and Kent raised two children, Shana (Gade) Elwood and Levi Gade, and made their home in Griswold, Iowa where Kent was a teacher and coach. They enjoyed family fishing trips to Lake McConaughy in Nebraska where they fished many times along side former Nebraska coach Tom Osborn. Pam and Kent had a painting business in the off school season and Pam did private house cleaning and cleaned several churches in Griswold. When Pam's first marriage ended, she went back to school at IWCC and became a nurse (CNA). She spent eight years in nursing and continued in private home care after her marriage to Richard Wright on July 15, 1999. Pam and Dick enjoyed golfing and traveling together, including trips to East and West coasts, Las Vegas, Florida, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Texas, Arizona and a Caribbean Cruise.
Pam was a very loving and caring person and enjoyed music and dancing, sudoku and word puzzles, cross stitch, working in her flowers and yard and volunteering at the Church. Above all else, she loved the Lord, her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by her husband Richard C. Wright of Atlantic; father Charles (Helen) Roth; daughter Shana (Kevin) Elwood and children, Kreighton, Kaleb, Kennedy and Karson; son Levi (Blaire) Gade and children Myah and Adaline; daughter Kristi Wright, son Dan (Teresa) Wright and children Drew and Brianna Wright and Colby Madsen, granddaughter Tiara Wright and significant other Wyatt Murphy and her children Walker and Tegan; grandson Sean (Danielle) Wright and their daughters Kailynn and Dahlilah, and granddaughter Shannon (Darrell) Leatherman and children Dallas and Calista; son Rick's significant other Mindy Niekamp and children Ashlee and Russell; a brother Stewart (Karen) Roth; Kent Gade her first husband and father of Shana and Levi and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pam is preceded in death by her mother Lorna Jean (Suzie) Roth; a brother Donald Roth; her grandparents Chris and Pearl Roth and George and Molly Ostermann; and a son Rick Wright.
There will be an open visitation daily at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic from 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., except for Sunday, with the family visiting with friends Wednesday evening, April 7, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Services for Pam will be held on Thursday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Atlantic._The family requests memorials be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
