Even amidst the deep sorrow at her memorial service and these 6 years since, I treasure the memories of Barbara and her enthusiasm for her family, life and design. Though I had only known her professionally up to the point of her passing I often recall testimony at her memorial of a young man, her son Jarod's friend, who recounted visits to the house where Barbara would be quick to welcome and feed visitors. His often repeated question to Jarod was "Dude, what's with all the turkey bacon?". Knowing Barbara this was likely a quick and healthy, protein snack for her son and his crew with the magnetic, marketing allure of "bacon" in the offering.
In recent years my young son Henry and his friend Lucas have taken a liking to my own serving of a regular course of "crispy turkey bacon" before they both head off to school together. Hovering over the stove daily with eyes rolled skyward, I now carry on the tradition, hoping Barbara is looking down in appreciation that her gestures of friendship & loving kindness live on.
I am also very thankful that, in a moment of transition during a client meeting, she asked about the naming of my firm & I was able to share with her the testimony of the transforming love of Jesus Christ that changed my troubled life from darkness to light forever.

I just heard the sad news and my thoughts and prayers are with all of Barb's family. We were roommates for 2 years at Syracuse and although we lost touch I often thought of her with the fondest of memories.

Dave, Jared, and Adele, I am so sorry for your loss. I have never met you, but Barb was one of my closest childhood friends. She was by my side through elementary, junior, and high school and I have many fond memories of spending time with her. Although we lost touch through the years, she was often in my thoughts. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Our prayers and deepest sympathy go out to Barbara's family. I had the opportunity to work with this wonderful woman on the architecture work for the Boys & Girls Club in Auburn a few years ago. She was delightful and positive and cared so much for the children we would serve. She will be missed greatly.

Barbara was a truly beautiful person whom we will all miss greatly. A talent for fine design and team-building like few others I've ever met. May God richly comfort her family in the cherished memories of one we so loved and respected.

Barbara worked on the initial drawings for our home remodel and was a talented, creative and professional architect. Even more so, she was always so kind, warm and welcoming every time I would see her at the Auburn Racquet Club and around town. I will miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with her beloved children, partner, family and friends. God bless you, Barbara.
