Basilio Procissi Obituary

Basilio "Bud" Procissi
10/9/1927-1/25/2014

Basilio, also known by friends as Bud, passed away after a short illness on January, 25, 2014. Bud was born in Lincoln, California on October 9, 1927 to Elvira (Testa) and Luigi Procissi. He came to Auburn in 1936 with his family. Bud graduated from Lincoln Way Grammar School in 1941 and Placer High School in 1944. He attended Armstrong Business School in Berkeley, California where he received his AA in Business Administration. He was drafted during the Korean Conflict in 1950 where he served under the command of Brig. John F. Uncles as his aide-de-camp in Germany.
Active in community affairs, Bud had a great love for Old Town Auburn where he was raised. He started a movement in 1962 for the restoration of the Historic Old Town Auburn Firehouse, and the exterior improvements of several buildings. He served on the Auburn City Planning Commission for 16 years and Auburn Public Cemetery Board for over 30 years. He also is a director emeritus of the Placer Community Foundation. Bud served four years as District President of the Blessed Sacrament District of Italian Catholic Federation and was a charter member of the St. Joseph's Branch # 342. He was a member of Saint Joseph Church since 1936 and the Knights of Columbus.
Bud's first love was family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Patsy Lee Erickson, in June of 2005. He is survived and will be dearly missed by: his daughter, Adriana (Todd) Jensen, his son, Robert (Michelle) Procissi of Lincoln, his four grandchildren Michael and Ariana Jensen, and Laura and Caroline Procissi. He is also survived by his faithful sister and business partner, Orsalina "Lena" Procissi, who together operated the Happy Hour Club and Liquor Store in Old Town Auburn, now Historic Old Town Auburn from 1948 - 1995.
At his request, no public services are planned. A family memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements handled by Sierra Foothills Funeral Services of Auburn.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you please make a donation to the Placer Community Foundation, St Joseph's Italian Catholic Federation Branch #342, or the Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital.

I remember Bud and Pat from the late 50's to the early 60's. Pat and I worked together in a dress shop in Auburn. Pat inspired me to become a teacher. I well remember visiting Pat and Bud in old Auburn above the tavern. So sorry to learn of your passing and Pat's passing a few years ago Connie Wilson New Zealand.
